Harry vs. Edward - Wand vs Sparkle

The ultimate debate - the two biggest names in literature "Harry Potter" and "Twilight". I have to say, the number of webpages devoted to the topic borders on insane! For some really funny opinions on the topic click here. One of the best was:

"Let Edward sparkle in peace. Harry Potter is in my opinion WAY better, but at least twilight gets people to read." And that, dear readers, is deep.

They met once - when Edward was less pale and Harry was having a bad hair day. Memories...!

Now, before we set off on this debate NO COMPARING THE MOVIES!! This is one of the things that angers me, even though I do it myself most of the time. All because either Daniel or Robert did a bad/good job of being Harry/Edward has NOTHING to do with the BOOKS. So stick to the books!

As one forum offered us for TEAM HARRY:

"1. It has a PLOT!
2. It has Subplots
3.It has several characters with depth.
4. JK is not afraid to sacrifice the good guys
5. JK researches her material, has good use of Latin and history within her books. Spells are named after Latin words and do what the Latin words do. Names of some characters give hints as to what that character is such as Sirius which means Dog Star for more Albus which means White (pure wizard)

6. JK wrote a whole imaginative world that goes further than her 7 books. She thought about more then writing a story but created a whole world with extra information.
7. Harry potter is not predictable and JK Rowling ties all knots and answers all questions.
8. Harry Potter teaches good values and relationships. There are no controlling abusive relationships and the hero can go on without their partner."

"Whoever published Twilight should be put in Azkaban." Anon.

But another was adamant about opposing it as TEAM TWILIGHT (one website put a picture of Jennifer Aniston as J.K Rowling. Please, people - use Google Images sparingly!):

"1. Edward wasn't a dork - he was cool
2. It's a love story about two people who are meant for each other.
3. They don't have to go to school to learn their powers
4. The Volturi are realistic villains
5. Twilight books get to the point. They don't wind on for say, 7 books.
6. Twilight led to the vampire craze
7. The good characters don't die.
8. Easy to read - not too complex.

"It's just common sense to like Twilight!" Anon.

Now it's time for you all to analyse the topic for yourselves - be strong! Be open-minded and opinionated! Express your opinions below and pick your side in a war to rival Voldemort and Harry's and with more intelligence than Bella Swan's suicide attempt!
